NS - are you TRYING to turn Rice into fordstar...

Re: Declan Rice
Never looked flustered, didn't put a foot wrong. Should keep his place in the side.

Re: Declan Rice
I've said it from the first time I saw him that the boy has something about him.. We should have been playing him from the beginning of the season IMO.

Another youngster who seems to have plenty going for him is Haksabanovic, If we had the cojones to have given him a game or two then he might also have saved us millions.

Made the difference.

Re: Declan Rice
old head on young shoulders.

What I like is his positional sense, always seems to be in the right place.

Thought Oggy was immense as well

Re: Declan Rice
Got to keep his place now. The boy's not just a good defender, he can play. Class.

Re: Declan Rice
Sees danger quickly and is composed. Solid performance tonight. Definitely hope we will see more of him and that we can help him develop. Not convinced he should start every game yet but would hope his performances lead to that in the future.

Re: Declan Rice
Get young Reece in there too and within a year or two could be a tidy back pair.

Re: Declan Rice
Absolute class. Was outstanding tonight and what a future he has. I also have to say Ogbonna since Moyes has got hold of him, he has been outstanding like he was in Bilic’s first season.

Those three tonigh Reid Ogbonna and Rice are the best three if we are going to play that way.

Re: Declan Rice
Definitely bears a resemblance to the young Bobby Moore in the way he reads the game. Superb tackler.
I've never seen such a good young defender come through from our academy including Rio

Re: Declan Rice
I agree about Rice - excellent performance tonight. It will be interesting to see him keep his place and how he performs when we are attacking more.

Re: Declan Rice
Looks like a cracking player. Needs to remain here as a part of the first team. Absolutely shouldn’t go on loan next season.

Moyes is lucky to have the ACADEMY.

Haz, spot on about Haksabanovic

I'm hoping he plays Sunday

Sven Roeder 12:45 Fri Jan 5
Re: Declan Rice
No way he will go on loan, will be a first team regular by next season.
And probably captain of ROI given his competition to get in that side is deadbeats and journeymen.

Alfs 4:12 Fri Jan 5
Re: Declan Rice
Knowing the Dave's, they'll loan him out to Maidenhead for £8.50 per week.

arsegrapes 4:21 Fri Jan 5
Re: Declan Rice
Deserves a starting berth on merit, but can see that they will want to protect his confidence by not throwing him in the deep end so soon. 18 yrs has plenty of time. The two-Bobs will be rubbing their sweaty palms at the thought of him being the next John Stones with massive City and Chelsea bids coming in a couple of years.

Re: Declan Rice
It's just a shame that we are not a progressive club that gives the youths more of a chance.

Re: Declan Rice
Fantasic last night, looked more assured and solid in that position than Reid and Cresswell have in recent weeks. His positioning and composure on the ball for someone 18 years old is seriously impressive.

Him and Oxford can push for starting berths next season no need for Mawson.

Hope he starts sunday along with the likes of Martinez, Haksabanovic, Quina and Makasi

Bertolli 10:18 Fri Jan 5
Re: Declan Rice
He is clearly not a midfielder, and hopefully they will stop playing him there. Every time he has played in that back 3/4, he has looked solid and composed. Outstanding game last night.

Not whilst a mistake or 2 from them can cost a game and places in the league; especially the position we are in at the moment.
